Appeal for Belorussian students

Дата публикации:

We address to you with the request for help in connection with the fact that in Belarusian higher education establishments now students are being eliminated for their participation in the rally on December, 19th. More than 600 people, basically youth, are sentenced to imprisonment for 10-15 days and are in prisons. The trials, which they had to pass through right after the events on December, 19th, have nothing to do with justice. Their elimination from educational institutions takes place in absentia, in the absence of the students.

In this connection, we are asking you of the following: to address to the Minister of Education of Belarus Mr. Alexander Radkov with letters or statements about non-admittance of the practice of expulsions of students of Belarusan educational institutions, as well as that of dismissals of tutors in connection with their participation in the peaceful protest actions. We will be grateful if you spread this request among your contacts in the academic environment, universities of your country.

Address of the Ministry of Education of Belarus:
Sovetskaya str., 9
220010 Minsk, Belarus
Fax: (017) 200-84-83
