In 2011 the Schwarzkopf Foundation will award the “Young European of the Year” prize for the fifteenth time.
As in previous years, the Schwarzkopf Foundation is looking for a young person between 18 and 26 years old, who has served the promotion of understanding between nations and/or European integration and has achieved exemplary success, in order to award him/her with the prize “Young European of the Year”. We are not looking for young people with fully-fledged careers, but want to encourage and motivate these young people to continue to follow these ideals in future.
The award comes with a grant of € 5,000 to support a 6-month internship with a Member of the European Parliament, at a different European institution or with another European project.
The prize was first awarded in 1997. Previous prize winners have used the foundation’s grant to support their activities and continue to show incredible dedication to their engagement with European issues.
