Two seminars took place in Kyiv on the weekend, 15 and 16 October 2011. On Saturday, 13 young activists learned about human rights and human rights advocacy, and on Sunday, a slightly different group of 16 activists learned about the human integrity and education. Since there were two seminars, their programs and goals were different.

On 2 March 2011 in the premises of the Kyiv City Migration Service (KMS), right after receiving a rejection in refugee status from that authority, a refugee Denis Solopov was detained by police. Migration Service where refugees are supposed to come and ask for protection turned out to be a trap, where they are caught on demand of their persecutors.  

Michele Curto, President of the International Human Rights Network “Flare”, visited Kharkov to examine the felling of trees and the construction of a road through the largest urban park in the Ukraine. Michele Curto was informed about this situation by representatives of “Flare” in Kiev and regional representatives of YHRM in the Ukraine. The “Flare” Network (48 organizations in 24 countries) is engaged in the combat of organized crime, corruption and support for the development of civil society.

Kharkov municipal authorities proceed with the scandal deforestation of our city. Under different pretexts, they ceded vast areas in Kharkov Forest called Lesopark, Gorky park, Artem park and the whole area of Zustrich park to business corporations and individuals.

A Football Against Racism in Europe (FARE) consultation meeting took place in Kiev on 2 May. The informal meeting was well attended, which illustrates a strong interest in common activities against racism in football among Ukrainian FARE partners. It is also a testimony to the networking work in Ukraine conducted by the 'NEVER AGAIN' Association in frames of the FARE East European Development Project.

From March 26 till April 2 there had been the 7^th anniversary of the International festival of documentary on human rights “Docudays UA” in Ukraine. This year the audience could see the best 32 documentaries from Australia, Great Britain, Greece, Denmark, Israel, Macedonia, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Finland, Hungary and Ukraine.

At the beginning of March a project of Student Embassy was launched. The pioneers were three Ukranian higher schools: National Aviation University (Kyiv), National University ‘Lviv Polytechnic’ (Lviv), Gorbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University (Ternopil).

Nowadays self-government is one of the forms of student’s participation in everyday life of the university and sometimes the society. At first sight it is all simple: student’s self-government is when students organize on their own, remove part of the duties from the administration of the high school and perform independently. But the complexity is that nobody has negotiated the exact duties of student's self-management.

On the 27th of June 2008 the regional conference «Civil actions against racism and xenophobia» took place in Kharkov.

The Conference's organizers were the Kharkov charity foundation «Social service for help», Youth Human Rights Movement Ukraine, Youth Human Rights Group-Kharkov and Civil Freedoms Centre (Kiev).
