Dear friends! Respected colleagues!

The year of 2008 was rich in different events, both joyful and grievous. This year revealed new challenges to Human Rights and for the umpteenth time proved that the mission is "arduously possible" ) But we don't lose hope and believe that changes to the good are not only possible, moreover they are within our control!

For the YHRM network this year was also peculiar because it became the year of the 10th anniversary, the year of resuming and rethinking everything cumulated and experienced during the past decade.

We are glad that we are, as before, together with you: communicating, exchanging thoughts and ideas, planning, dreaming and creating!

We, as a community of totally different people with different views and positions, are the treasure that we own and with which we meet the coming year of 2009!

This year our number increased for more than 179 individual correspondents from different countries of the world: Belarus, Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia,
Lithuania, Moldova, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Ukraine. Our Network became stronger for 11 individual participants. This year this status was granted to:

Olga Morkova (Kharkiv, Ukraine);
Tatevik Gukasyan (Moscow, Russia);
Tatyana Serpukhova (Moscow-Voronezh, Russia);
Yana Lesnaya (Kharkiv, Ukraine);
Yaroslav Kichuk (Odessa, Ukraine).

We congratulate you on the New Year and wish that next year our relations would become tighter and warmer!

We wish to all the YHRM Network correspondents and participants, as well as to all our friends, a successful and fruitful New Year!

In order to draw a line under the outgoing year we invite all of you to share with us your achievements and results of your work: photographs of actions and seminars, images and ideas born during this year. We will cheerfully include them into our common-network materials (reference books, chronicles of actions, newspapers, etc.).
