Ukraine – without borders!

In August 2007 the international camp “No Borders” «??? ??????» «??? ??????i?» took place near the Uzhgorod (Ukraine) in the framework of the European “All Different – All Equal” campaign with the participation of YHRM.

The Ukrainian network “No borders” acted as the main organizer of the camp.

More than 200 persons from Western and Eastern Europe (Germany, Italy, France, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, etc.) discussed the current European policy in the sphere of migration and the situation with the freedom of movement, as well as the opportunities of different actions (protest, charitable, social, legal, awareness-raising, etc.) for changing the present situation and for integrating migrants and refugees. in detail »»

[ 10.12.2008 ] YHRM’s cooperation with the Council of Europe is raised to a new level

In the beginning of November the Youth Human Rights Movement received official notification that from January 2009 onwards it will enjoy participatory status with the Council of Europe. Such a decision was taken by the NGO Unit of the organization after reviewing the application submitted by the Movement in April 2008.

[ 05.12.2008 ] "Memorial" issues statement over the seizure of its office in St Petersburg

On 4 December, following a decision passed by the City Prosecutor, a search was undertaken of the research and information centre "Memorial" in St. Petersburg, the organization researching the history of the Stalinist Terror . The search was carried out under the pretext of an investigation into the case of what the Prosecutor asserts was an "extremist" publication a year and a half ago in a newspaper called "New Petersburg".
