The initiative of Georgian, Russian and international NGOs to forge relationship between civil societies of Georgia and Russia invites anyone interested to join.

The initiative has appeared after the last conflict in August, 2008, and since then there have taken place a lot of meetings and discussions, both in Georgia and Russia, and internationally.

During this time the initiative on the integration of Georgia and Russia civil organizations for teamwork over our shared problems has been definitively issued into the Georgian-Russian Civil Dialogue.

International Youth Human Rights Movement became one of the members of the Dialogue Steering committee together with other human rights and civil organizations from Georgia, Russia, and also other countries.

Dialogue development would lie in the forming-up of the direct contacts between NGO in following basic directions:

1.Cooperation on solution of humanitarian problems of the civil population, which suffered in the result of different armed conflicts;
2.Dialogue “Remembrance and Future-building” – the discussion on common historical past, its consequences and the possibilities for its analysis and transformation, as well as the dialogue on possible future civil processes in both countries;
3.Dialogue on Human Rights standards, Rule of Law and democracy in our countries and the region in general (including combating xenophobia and discrimination as well as supporting long-term peacemaking initiatives);
4.“Public Dialogue” – collaboration in the spheres of culture, arts, literature and journalism; support of direct contacts among young people, students, teachers and others;
5.“Cross-border Dialogue” – support of the initiatives of any level that are directed at bilateral contacts and links in the frontier regions.

Now Dialogue is opened for joining civil and human rights organizations from Georgia, Russia, as well as the international and any foreign organizations interested in work on the Dialogue themes.
