On 27-28 of May in Moscow on base of the Center of History and Cultural Anthropology of the African Institute in the Russian Academy of Science took place the International seminar "Racism, xenophobia, discrimination. How we have seen them ... ".

During two days participants of the event were invited to consider the different sides of the same social problem named "racism, xenophobia and discrimination". The main blocks of the seminar were the following: "Racism, xenophobia, discrimination: new approaches", "Transformation of racism and xenophobia in contemporary Russia", "Role of the State in the manufacture of discrimination", "Racism, xenophobia, discrimination: the way we have seen them ...".

With the participants worked representatives of the Institute of African Studies, Centre for Franco-Russian Studies in Moscow, EHESS / CNRS, Fondation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme (FMSH), Centre for Independent Social Research (St. Petersburg), Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology, Institute of Philosophy, Higher School of Economics (a branch in St. Petersburg), Smolny Institute of Free Arts and Sciences (St. Petersburg), as well as information and analytical center "SOVA".

Youth Network against Racism and Intolerance and YHRM Network were represented by their participants - Anastasia Denisova (Krasnodar) and Bertrand Akola (Voronezh, Russia - Congo). They have presented information and educational materials which reflect the activities of networks to other participants of the seminar.
