The 3-hours search took place on January, 11 in Anastasia Denisova's apartment in Krasnodar - the head of “ETHnICS” organization, member of the Coordinating Council of the International Youth Human Rights Movement, “Memorial” employee and CE expert.
The officials of Krasnodar Economic Crimes Department came with the inspection right after Anastasia had returned to Krasnodar from her New Year trips.
As Anastasia says, the officials Armen Gasparjan, Pavel Ignatenko and Vasily Linkov came together with search witnesses and the landlady and showed the statement for inspection on the basis of the criminal case opened against her over st. 146, p.3, part "g":"Illegal Use of Copyright Objects or Neighbouring Rights as well as Appropriation, Storage, Transportation of Pirated Copies or Phonorecords for Sale Purposes on a Large Scale with Use of Official Position". Maximal punishment on this accusation is 6-years prison term and the fine up to the 500.000 RUB.
The Economic Crimes Department officials just showed the statement to Anastasia so she could only get the idea that there had been a criminal case opened against her during the New Year vacations.
The landlady was told that the situation concerned the "special operation on authentication of residents and registered persons because of the terrorist threat.”
In search of pirate software law-enforcement authorities had inspected the whole flat: equipment, all data carriers, documents and even books. As a result, policemen confiscated laptop, external hard drive and flash memory drive.
The questioning is appointed on January, 12. Anastasia will be supported by Marina Dubrovina, advocate, cooperating with "AGORA” Association.
We want to remind that in October 2009 there took place similar search in the premises where Anastasia Denisova happened to work. That time Krasnodar Economic Crimes Department officials confiscated 3 computers.
